Hi, I am Regina

I am a Somatic Movement Coach, fully certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor and have my own story of chronic pain. Pain and the desire to help others have guided me for over 12 years. In the past two years I expanded my knowledge by getting certified in Pain Care Yoga and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT). My experience is that not one modality alone is the solution, the magic lays in the combination. One shoe doesn’t fit all, everyone is unique and therefore needs a unique approach to healing.

In 2012 I decided to change my career from Event Manager to Pilates Instructor. Frustrated with my chronic neck and shoulder pain, that despite doing weekly Pilates classes, just didn’t want to go away. I wanted a profession where I was not sitting in front of a computer for most of the day, believing my pain was caused by my bad posture. Having gone to all the physical therapists out there without lasting change, I felt I needed to make a bigger shift. Four years later I am a fully Certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor teaching up to 20 hours a week and doing my own regular workouts. Being stronger, fitter and having almost perfect posture, but the pain was still there on regular basis.

What was I doing wrong? Always searching for the thing that will help I explored Thomas Hanna Somatics and found the missing link: The Brain. After a year practicing Somatic movements and working with a clinical partitioner, I freed myself of neck and shoulder pain. But this is not the end of the story of pain. My next experience with chronic pain came in 2020. The stress of the pandemic, being a new mum of a baby boy and my husband’s battle with pain ended up being too much. Sleep went first and then the pain in my arms, shoulders, back and legs started. Diagnosis was Fibromyalgia. My movement practices were not the answer to this problem. The Pain Care Yoga course gave me some information but I still did not make the right connections. Then, a pain client I was helping with Somatics recommended the book “The Way Out” to me. When I read through it and set it down in October 2022 I was no longer in Pain. How can a book take my pain away? The answer is again: The Brain. By March 2023 I was off my prescription medication and I have not had a flare up since.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy is the answer to chronic pain. You can also free yourself of pain and physical limitations. Let’s give your conscious Brain the correct information of what pain is and how it works, the Subconscious Brain the feeling of safety to make the right decisions about your physical sensations and your body the movements to release tension and strengthen muscles if necessary.
